Hi, I’m Richard, an experienced English teacher with a CELTA qualification from International House. I’m very friendly, love meeting new people and of course, love teaching English! I offer lessons for all levels from Beginner to Advanced and the first lesson is FREE, so we can talk about your needs and you can decide if you want me to be your teacher. I also help with: - Exam preparation, IELTS, TOEFL, etc. - Business / Financial / Legal English - CV’s, cover letters and job applications - Interview preparation (for jobs, college/university or even the CELTA course itself) - Accent reduction and focus on pronunciation - Presentations - Conversation (formal or informal) - Proofreading and editing - Dissertations and theses up to PhD. level MY BACKGROUND I started my career in law (Clifford Chance, Freshfields, Allen & Overy, White & Case) before working in the financial sector (Deutsche Bank, Collins Stewart, Nomura, FSA) for several years. I have also been a freelance journalist and have worked at the BBC, Sky, CNBC and Euronews. Banking & International Finance, CASS Business School (2005) - M.A. TV & Current Affairs Journalism, City University (2010) - CELTA, International House, London (2012) MY METHOD Every lesson is individually planned for each student, according to their needs. I’m very flexible and patient and I work hard for the progress of the student but I also make English lessons fun, dynamic and exciting, whether one-to-one or in groups. I have a car (and a bicycle for the summer!) and I can come to you, you can come to me or we can meet in a nice quiet cafe somewhere in London. I also offer Skype lessons, if this is more convenient. My rates are negotiable, depending on location, time taken to get there and petrol costs.
